Hello, my name is Arielle Simmons. I have always loved and appreciated the beauty of the French language. For me, learning a language is like solving a puzzle or cracking a code. I do hope to master the French language within the next couple of years so here are my objectives for this course.
1.) Proper Pronunciation.
2.) Holding A Conversation. I want to be able to hold at least a five minute conversation in French without stuttering or hesitating.
3.) My goal is to increase my knowledge about French culture including art history and independent films.
Strengths :
I really like math, so it’s easy for me to remember combinations, esp. when dealing with conjugated verbs.
As a musician, I do have a semi-skilled hear which helps me to identify and repeat what I hear.
I have a good memory which helps me to remember all the grammar rules and spellings
Weaknesses :
I need more practice with my pronunciation.
There is a big gap between my last French class and now.
PLAN :
I plan on going to the tutoring sessions at the FLRC at least once a week.
I will converse in French more often with other students
I will utilize ALL resources on campus and invest in a lot of flashcards!
Hi Arielle! Your goal of wanting to carry on a five minute conversation in French is lofty, but amazing. I really hope you're able to acheive that goal in your time frame. My personal goals significantly pale in comparison to yours. I just want to be able to feel more confident in my speaking and understanding. It seems to take me forever to catch what's being said and it makes me feel inadequate when I have to ask the person to slow down or listen to a recording 46 times to understand. I hope we both are able to do well this semester! Kasey Soule-Firebaugh
